Read below to learn more about the UN's sustainability goals (from the UN connection 2020):
The UN's sustainability goals apply to all countries throughout the world, both rich and poor. The goals have a major impact on Norwegian politics - both in municipalities and local communities and nationally. Prime Minister Erna Solberg heads the UN's driving force for the sustainability goals.
Although many of the goals have already been met in Norway, a lot of work remains here at home as well. An example is goal 12, which is about responsible consumption and production, where we must work to reduce food waste. To stop climate change on target 13, Norway must reduce its emissions.
In the spring of 2020, it became clear that the government will draw up a national action plan for the goals. This is important because the 17 sustainability goals are closely linked. It is also necessary to have a good plan for how we can achieve the goals across political divides and in collaboration with organizations and municipalities.
With only 10 years left until the goals are reached, all countries in the world and all the people in each country must work together.
